Current update

Hello, I'm back. Been neglecting this blog for so 'long' that it's really difficult to even think about getting into momentum again. Not to mention there's no easy way out of simply putting photographs of my cat, for there's no need to.. since Misha simply looks just as cute as he did when he first came ;P I still think he's the most adorable animal in the world.. ok, maybe my housemates' cat Baki ties with him for first place. Just a cat fact that I discovered the other day, while studying Vet. Parasitology. Anyway, there was this particular parasite called "Aelurostrongylus abstrusus" and I decided to google "Aeluro-" to find out what it means. Apparently, that word = cat, in Greek. Therefore, you can tell people that you are an aelurophile in future if you have a fondness, or love for cats. Or you could be an aelurophobe (someone who has a morbid fear of cats), or perhaps you'll like to explore the realms of aeluromancy (divination or prophecy by observing a cat's manner of jumping ?!?!?) . I should just go and learn Greek next time.

So yeah. This semester has flown by in a flash and now it's only a month away to flying home for Christmas. I'm really looking forward to it... I can't believe that I've been away for a year. The duration that I've stayed away seems long, yet, not quite. I don't feel as though I've changed, but then everyone else around me has. Most of my friends have made the transition from uni to working life this year, and much as I would really like to meet them and catch up on news, I am apprehensive to whether we'll still be able to talk with the same wavelengths. BUT! I am probably worrying too much, as usual. It is not as if that is something within my control, isn't it? I would really love to see my old friends again anyhow, and meeting up with my "ya-ya-sisterhood". Then there's a Japanese vet friend coming to visit in early December, my eldest sis returning home shortly after I do, and couple weeks of attachment to do (yippee....ya rite). And then there's that free available IN TUNE piano sitting around at home to play and write some tunes with.. see, life only gets better!

The only thing that spoiled the prospect of looking forward to going home, is that my housemates and I are being evicted from our currently rented house. And such a piece of news came out of the blue. Rental prices have gone up as well, I foresee it's going to be couple of distressing and worrying weeks ahead. We have to find a place to move to before our exams, as we are leaving almost immediately after. The few places we've checked out are pretty bad... for instance, who uses spotted bricks in their homes? We were standing outside of one particular house the other day, and were trying to figure out what on earth were those black tarry spots on the bricks... one of our guesses was that someone had been smoking and left cigarette marks on the walls. Or perhaps it was black fungi. I thought it looked more like bits of chewing gum left over for a long long time it had turned black. Anyway. I just wish for a wonderful house to drop down from the sky now and land in front of us......
